Is LJ really cracking down on slash and people who post stuff about homosexuality or is it just a rumor? Because if it's not, brb have to figure out how to put an entire kink meme on a flash drive.

If it it, I haven't seen it. The only evidence I saw was one post in which a user said that a different user had been blocked and they'd received a message or some such, but there were no screencaps or anything that backed it up. Since most of my LJ is slash, most of my friends' LJs are slash, and I haven't heard anything from them, I'd guess it was bunk.
