so... you only watched from season 6 on? well, there's your problem right there.

sam's issue is lately, imo, the fact that he's always like this thing. this thing that has Bad Shit happen to him, doesn't really have any agency, and dean gets worried about. and there's no (shown) reaction from sam as to how he's feeling about all this Bad Shit? his and dean's roles have flipped from the first seasons, except the emotional aspect of dean from the earlier seasons got lost. does that make sense?
