Actually, there IS a way - I used to do it, but now so few of my friends post on LJ and not DW, I took it off. For that matter, it may or may not still work.

Basically there is a style that someone made for LJ which converts your friends page into the format of an RSS feed. If you then make a feed account for that style over here on DW, then you can follow it, and it will post all public entries posted on your LJ friends list on your DW reading list. (Friends-locked posts did not show up, because well, friends-locking and such just doesn't work that way with RSS feeds.)

Darned if I can remember where I found the style, but I think it was via Google, so you might have some luck that way. And then when you make the account over here I think you had to make the feed URL include a ?style=[whatever the style number was] to make it work.

~~Sorry I can't be of more help, but I seriously did this something like ... uh, how long has DW been around now? Years ago, at any rate.~~ Scratch that, I found it! And my LJ friends list feed still works, so it should probably work with yours too!

Try http://yourLJnamehere.livejournal.com/data/customview?styleid=670763 ... It has been so long since I worked with LJ styles, I'm not sure if you have to make a copy of the style yourself in order to apply it to your journal in this way and actually get a proper feed, but it's worth a shot.

http://vodex.net/livejournal-friends-as-an-rss-feed/ has a step by step explanation, including what seems to be a link to a version of the base style that you can copy/paste/save to your own LJ account. The link above, as it turns out, does NOT work with anyone else's journal but my own, because the style is locked to the journal.

It also claims that using those instructions gets you locked entries. I'm not entirely sure whether it works or not, because this is a different set of instructions than I used, and I'm pretty sure the instructions I used said it was impossible - but they may have a better grip on it than I did back in the day. =)
