(Anonymous) 2013-10-26 08:09 pm (UTC)(link)I stopped listening after the 12th podcast because of it. I just could not care less what happened in Night Vale because he could not make me care.

Am I right or is this a funny/cool coincidence?

(Anonymous) 2013-10-26 08:35 pm (UTC)(link)Mostly to try and fill the endless void that is the dearth of femslash on AO3, but also because why not? :D

(Anonymous) 2013-10-26 09:17 pm (UTC)(link)Either way, my het and gen one-shots are doing a lot better kudo & comments-wise than my (two experimental) femme-slash ones, despite the femslash ones being objectively better written than some of the het or gen one-shots. It sort of demotivates me from posting any other femme-slash-i-ness I've written and posted elsewhere. Because whether I upload them today or three months from now, they're still not likely to be read by a wide audience.
(And weirdly? The femme-slash fic that I forgot to tag as 'femslash' is doing a lot better than the one I tagged properly. Like, 4x as many hits, 9x as many kudos, 6x as many comments, and bookmarks have been made. The properly tagged one was even promoted in a large fandom's newsletter by some kind soul and the non-tagged one had absolutely no promotion. (They were both posted to my DW account first so it's not like I treated them any differently. And they were even written and posted within the same time frame.) I really don't know what to do with that info.)

(Anonymous) 2013-10-26 09:31 pm (UTC)(link)But that said, if I compare another crossover I wrote featuring the same 'main' fandom to the floundering femme-slash one, the stats are even more damning. (And, for the sake of some form of fairness, the crossover I chose to compare the femme-slash fic to is newer and features a friendship between two female characters - one from each fandom. And of those two women, one is generally despised by the fandom that she comes from for being (unhappily) married to a guy they'd like to see all the gay sexy times for. The femme slash fic is between two main characters, one of whom is loved and the other of whom has an ambivalent to hostile fandom with patches of deep love for the character to make things interesting.)
5x as many hits, 3x as many comments, 13x as many kudos, and bookmarks have been planted.

(Anonymous) 2013-10-26 10:31 pm (UTC)(link)I also like Cecil's voice fine, but then I gather voices are a lot like looks: everyone has their own tastes.
At least there's transcripts?

(I know it's already been addressed above, but props to you for deviating from the regular purple background for this secret!)
