Yeah, this. I've never seen anyone realize what they were doing wrong simply with showing them in a media a character doing the same.

i've heard of circumstances (and lived them myself) where watching a fictional behavior actually DID point out a flaw in the viewer's behavior and they were hit by it and made an effort after that.

but it was UNPROMPTED and UNFORCED. every time you shove a character/movie/etc at a person going "you're the worst, this character is just like you, maybe you'll finally see it"... the only reaction you'll have is defending that character's behavior, which just makes the whole damn thing worse. attack a person, they'll get defensive. it's not that weird or unexpected - or rather, it shouldn't be.
