I'm sorry you had a bad experience.
I've gone twice a year to a small con for the last 3 years and I've loved it. Everyone is very clean and very polite, no-one smells or has bad breath, and everyone is quite fashionable. I have made loads and loads of friends that I now see out of con times and I get invited to loads of other events up and down the UK. I feel safe, I can be me and no-one judges each other.
I hope you find it better the next time if you decide to try another one.
