Justify your ships that pass in the night
(Anonymous) 2013-10-26 09:22 pm (UTC)(link)So, this is a thread for either a) asking "what's the deal with ship x/y?" -- meant to actually get someone to answer and give a good explanation for what the deal is, not an excuse to make snide remarks about x/y, mind. Or b) explaining why you like x/y and why it makes sense even though a lot of people say it doesn't.

I just wonder if it's based on some epic fanfic from years before BayFormers happened and I got into the fandom.
Re: Justify your ships that pass in the night
That said, my ship is perhaps even more questionable because it's two characters who've never once been on-screen together, but I love the idea of Olivia Benson/Bobby Goren from SVU and Criminal Intent, respectively. The reason it appeals to me is because I see a lot of parallels in their backgrounds; they both were raised by single mothers with a lot of problems, they both investigate the types of crimes their biological fathers committed, they're both married to the NYPD and overly attached to their partners, etc., but they deal with it in very different ways. Bobby's all head and Olivia's all heart, and I think they'd be really interesting together (and neither of them would ever find someone who'd understand them better than they'd understand each other).

Sirius/James. I don't know why this isn't as popular as Sirius/Remus. The subtext, man, the subtext.
