An episode/scene you wish had happened

(Anonymous) 2013-10-26 09:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Pick a show. Or a book. Or a series. Or a movie. Or whatever. Now, describe a scene you wish had been inserted into it. Not a scene that should have happened instead of some other scene. Not a scene that makes a drastic change to the actual in-universe sequence of events. Just an extra scene you wish had made it into the story alongside the actual canon scenes.

If it's from a TV show (or some other short serial type of fiction), feel free to expand this from a scene that you wish had happened to a full episode that you wish had happened.

This doesn't quite fit but it's the only thing I can think of, but there was an episode of Star Trek Voyager (Distant Origin) about humanoid dinosaurs (they are actually related to humans and from Earth originally). I wish that species would have showed up again.

(I actually wanted a spin-off with those characters, but I'd take another episode.)

I've always been bitter that we never learnt of Doc Daneeka's fate. How did he stop being dead? (did he?) What happened to him post-war?

Actually, I want Doc Daneeka to be Yossarian's doctor instead of Shumacher. Don't argue with me, it would change nothing. Shumacher is essentially a civilian twin of Daneeka's.

Also, 1954 Sherlock Holmes

I wish something so stunning/frightening/exciting would happen that even Holmes would react. Because he's so smug and humorous all the time, I just want him to go all oh my fucking god for once.

I have never seen the 1954 series. Is it good?

I wish there had been a scene in the Star Trek TOS episode "Operation: Annihilate" of Kirk grieving for his brother. Doesn't have to be a long scene with lots of talking, just an evocative one.

Musical Supernatural episode. Sort of like the Buffy episode but maybe they are cursed to sing songs from popular culture.

I wish Mako had spoken with Sasha about piloting Jaegers. Considering that Mako is new at it and Sasha is a veteran, I think it would have fit.

The episode of Doc Martin when Al and Ruth made out, just the once, because they totally fit together. Then they decided their relationship didn't work that way and went back to normal. It's why Ruth puts up with all Al's crap like turning up late for work or stealing money to try and bail his dad out, or getting into Al's doomed-to-failure B&B&F(ishing) scheme.

On Teen Wolf, I really wanted to see everyone's reactions to Derek still being alive after 3.5 and 3.6. Especially Scott's because he was torturing himself, thinking he had caused Derek's death. It was kind of a big deal for the characters that he wasn't dead and we got nothing.

There are so many little scenes I would have loved to see in TW, which basically boils down to everyone's reactions to events. The show needs more emotional follow through, so much heavy emotional events happen but I feel we never really get any reaction or closer or anything.

I wish Brad Kern had actually ASKED Shannen Doherty to come back to Charmed. It would've been nice to see her in the finale, but even more than that, I would've just wanted to see a scene with Prue and Paige interacting. Anything with the two of them would've made me happy, no matter whether it was in the finale or prior to it.

I'd also really like to see a musical episode of Haven.

Why don't we all agree that most every show could benefit from a good musical number.

I'm torn on this, because on the one hand OMG YES Prue-Paige interaction, but on the other hand, then I would've actually had to sit through the finale.

I wish that in the DS9 episode "For the Uniform," there had been a scene after Eddington was captured where he is led to a cell, which has a book and a message from Sisko: something to the effect of "Since you shared one of your favorite books, I thought I'd share mine. It's also a classic, and I think you'll particularly like the main character." The book is a copy of Don Quixote.

I wish there had just been one scene in season 13 of SVU between Elliot and Olivia, where he meets her for a drink or something and explains that even though he's not her partner anymore, he'll always be part of her life. It could've even been a one-sided phone call, if CM was absolutely dead set on not coming back. Then Olivia and Elliot's friendship could have continued off-screen and we wouldn't have had to sit through an entire season of Olivia's abandonment issues, and worse, all the fan-servicey bullshit about her ~unrequited love~ for him making her look like a 45-year-old high schooler.

Supernatural, I've got several of these.

Episode 5x13, The Song Remains the Same:

1. Dean questions Castiel about turning Anna over to Heaven. Cas admits to the boys that he did, and that he regrets it.

2. Sam and Dean make some attempt to talk Anna down from her plan to kill their family.

3. Castiel wakes in the hotel in the past, discovers what happened to Anna (or alternatively, the boys tell him when he returns to the present) and he grieves for her.

Episode 8x17, Goodbye Stranger:

- Cas finds out what happened to Meg and grieves for her. (Gee, I'm seeing a bit of a pattern here.)

Actually, I'd really just like to see a little bit more remembrance and discussion of deceased characters, period. Not everyone moping around nonstop and never shutting up about them, but a bit more acknowledgement after the fact when someone important was lost, and how the main characters reacted to it.
