Help help I'm getting obsessed

(Anonymous) 2013-10-26 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't want to be obsessed with a fandom right now. Can anyone give me tips on how to resist the lure of spending way too much time writing tl;dr essays and dogging it on tumblr and reading reams and reams of fic?

Throw your laptop away, assume a new identity, and move to outer Mongolia.

Limit your time online and find other things that interest you.

StayFocused! It's an add-on that blocks sites after a certain amount of time.

Otherwise, give your laptop to someone else to take care of and start writing your essays by hand. Once you've gotten in the work mood, you can take your laptop back and start typing up.

Good luck :)

Avoid the hell out of the sites that are dragging you down. If you need to install timers/blocks for internet use. I've been there and honestly the best thing I've found for it is to just spend as little time on the computer as possible.
