And having a diagnosis itself isn't a guarantee either, although it's loads more rare. A few parents will as many people as necessary to get a diagnosis and the autism spectrum diagnoses have really increased in the past decade or so. I know the later could be attributed to multiple things like increased awareness or an actual increase in people who have it, but it's also probable that some people have been misdiagnosed.
