Urgh, I'm sorry. :( I've only had one comparable congoing experience--no wildly unacceptable behavior, moderate amounts of personal-grooming fail, lots of insularity and not very welcoming to anyone under the age of 35--but even that was unpleasant enough.

I feel like we should start a list of small-to-medium cons whose participants generally don't suck. Because I've had great experiences at Gallifrey One in LA--I always end up making friends there, good gender and age balance, amazing cosplay and fan crafts, con-goers tend to be friendly and non-creepy in my experience, and the guests hang out with fans in the bar between panels. It's like some mirrorverse wank-free, welcoming, well-adjusted version of Doctor Who fandom. I'm still not sure how it exists.
