Yeah, I too have been in mosh pits that were better-smelling than some con attendees I've encountered. IME there's a fairly noticeable difference between plain old crowd smell and con funk.

Fresh sweat generally doesn't smell bad. Laid-in accumulated bacteria-shit funk, however...
