This last one was my eighth year! Though I've never actually been to the rave - by Saturday night I'm always pretty burnt out and like to wander around and people watch with my roomies instead (unless there's a panel I'm really, really interested in going to).
pantswarrior: Seven declares that fun may commence. (fun fun fun fun)

Hahah, that's my usual Saturday night too. I went to the rave exactly once, the one year I went alone. Some random dude that totally reeked of beer approached me on the way out and we had a bizarre conversation about speed limits in various states. It wasn't bad, but usually I'm in the masq, and by the time the rave starts I just want to be in something comfortable and relax somewhere relatively quiet. And not stand in a line for hours just in order to get in.

Since I always stay at the Embassy, though, I have to walk past the rave and/or the line for it if I want to get anything from my hotel room, so I get to see what's going on in the area... at this point I'm surprised when there's NOT a fire truck or ambulance out there at some point.
