I'm sorry it wasn't a fun time :(. I had a similar experience the first LGBTQ* pride event I went to. I thought I would meet people who were fun and interesting and accepting of everyone on a queer spectrum, and what I mostly found that first time were people who wanted to get pissed, barely believed that you could be bi let alone anything 'stranger' (or should that be 'queerer'?) and were into drugs and a quick shag rather than anything more interesting. On the bright side though, my second year at a gay pride was better because I found some of the kinds of people I hoped to see first time around, and also possibly because my expectations were lower I was more pleasantly suprised when I did see them. There were still plenty of the drugs-quick-shag-omg-theres-no-such-thing brigade but I managed not to be overwhelmingly disappointed by that and therefore managed to find more interesting people hidden amongst the throng. Maybe if you go to another con it will be better too?
