Looks like ugly people can be attacked and no one gives a shit. But try making fun of a fat or transgender person, or insult someone because of their race, and people go apeshit insane.

I actually like spelling his name in funny ways, even if I know it's childish. I don't do it in a spiteful way and don't use it online so it irritates other people; I would never tag his name as anything else either.

The name calling is mean, though. It's perfectly fine if you don't like an actor or actress, and ditto about finding them attractive, but it annoys me when people feel the need to constantly mention it and be dicks about it.

He made fun of his name in several interviews himself, so I really don't think that this is such a big deal. But the sheer mouth-frothing hate he gets thrown his way for no other reason that he doesn't look like your average hot guy? That's fucking scary.

I know! Didn't he say his last name sounded like a fart in a bathtub or something? Hehe. I wouldn't go THAT far and I can understand why it would grow old for some people, but Benedict probably wouldn't mind it. (Or, well, he might now because it's been going on for some time, but I doubt he's super offended by it.)

I honestly think people hate his fanbase more than him, and so they attack him; they're tired of hearing about him or seeing his fans and they go overboard on the hate. Maybe they genuinely don't like him, it happens, but that's the only thing that makes sense to me concerning the level of hate he gets, especially concerning his looks.

Granted, I know the man has some bad fans, but everyone does.
