I have a friend who I got to know because I love her fic. She's fine with slah - has written a couple of fics that are slash - though she has an editor helping her on her epic who apparently dislikes it. Given that I've seen some of the edit drafts, the editor is damn good at pointing out where more detail is needed, where the POV needs tightening, and other little things to improve the over-all flow. I can't fault her work, even if her dislike of slash means the author has to be careful who she says what to in IM.
