You like Melville?

This is from the first paragraph of Moby Dick:

"Whenever I find myself growing grim about the mouth; whenever it is a damp, drizzly November in my soul; whenever I find myself involuntarily pausing before coffin warehouses, and bringing up the rear of every funeral I meet; and especially whenever my hypos get such an upper hand of me, that it requires a strong moral principle to prevent me from deliberately stepping into the street, and methodically knocking people's hats off- then, I account it high time to get to sea as soon as I can. This is my substitute for pistol and ball."

Obviously the November thing is nothing new. I suggest finding something to occupy yourself. I get deeply depressed when I'm not busy, and it sounds like that's part of your problem; friends gone, weather stinking. If I'm busy, I just don't really have time to be depressed (instead I get incredibly worried about my grad school stuff! WHEE).

On top of that my birthday is in November. I don't think we've ever had good weather.

SO: get busy! It doesn't have to be something useful. Play video games--Bioware is good for something long but engaging. Watch a new series. Read a couple goofy books. Just do something! When you start feeling the dip do something instead of thinking about it.
