Echoing what someone else has already said - it's likely that people have asked her to write slash (especially if she's as good a writer as you say) and that's why it's in her profile.

Honestly? While homophobia bothers me too, if she's not shoving it into readers' faces or into her fic, there's nothing wrong with continuing to read and and enjoy her work. Homophobic people aren't always entirely shitty people.
