Have you ever been bored to sleep? Like something or someone bored you so much your brain went, "Well, that's it. I'm leaving and I'm turning out the lights" which made you go, "ZZZZZZZzzzzzz?"

What was it and what happened?

I used to fall asleep at my friend's house because she kept on trying to get me to watch Sophia Coppola movies. But Coppola's movies bore me to the point that I have to drink several cans of Coke just to make it half way through a movie. Especially The Virgin Suicides.

There was this one time I went to a really boring school assembly that dragged on forever. The only way I could keep my eyes open was to rip my pamphlet into little tiny pieces. I wasn't even tired, just bored.

Some romcom.

I can't even remember what it was.

I always fall asleep during those.

Happened in high school a lot. All of my classmates would leave the class at the end of the bell without even waking me, and the teacher for my next class would have to come get me.

Yes. Mostly in teleconferences. I haven't dropped the phone and faceplanted into my keyboard yet, but it's probably just a matter of time.

So many political science journal articles. I wonder if these guys have some sort of aversion to letting anything about their work sound interesting for fear of being discredited as being "not a real science" or something.

There are some movies that take me several tries to get though. I've never made it through 'Spaceballs.'

I have a hard time falling asleep, so it doesn't happen anyplace else except at home no matter how bored I am.

I nearly fell asleep during 300.

I had this during studying exams when I was still at school. Needless to say it was problematic.

I fell to sleep while watching To Kill a Mockingbird back in middle school. I feel bad because I still kinda liked what I saw of it, but the lack of background music and the soft voices lulled me to sleep.

I also almost fell asleep in my cinema class a few weeks ago while watching The Battleship Potemkin. Being a silent film didn't help.

Math makes me sleepy all the time. I also fall asleep every time I watch Slingblade. Still have not seen the whole thing.

Back in college, I'd play Disgaea 2 and Final Fantasy XII and nap during them. They're not like super boring, but battles can get monotonous, so zzzzz.

It probably didn't help I played on my bed.

I used to do this whenever I played Skyrim with a friend of mine. I'm not really sure if it was was boredom though, as I normally love Skyrim, but whenever I played it with her I just dozed off every time.

I fell asleep during lectures CONSTANTLY. Moreso if the prof was monotonous in tone.

I fell asleep once while playing 999, but it was kinda late. I also remember falling asleep numerous times during Breaking Dawn, and it wasn't even the most boring Twilight book...

I wish I could have fallen asleep when I watched Jumper many years ago, alas I stayed wide awake while my best friend snoozed beside me.

This episode of WWE RAW is putting me to sleep right now. This show sucks, I hope the McMahons pull a Chris Benoit on themselves and their children so we don't have to put up with any of this crap anymore.

I nodded off once during a D&D game at college. I wasn't even sleep-deprived, the game was just that bad.

I used to fall asleep halfway through Casablanca whenever my family watched it. There were at least three separate occasions where this happened. I watched it again just a few years ago and was amazed to discover that it had an ending.

As much as I enjoy Prince of Tennis and Hikaru no Go...

They put me to sleep in about 10 minutes. I literally have to caffeinate myself to get through them, and I don't know why. T___T

(Anonymous) 2013-10-29 02:52 am (UTC)(link)
No. But I *have* had a psychology prof. prove that it's actually impossible to be *bored* to sleep.

Welcome to Night Vale. Listened to 6 episodes and fell asleep at 3 pm.

A whole bunch of Korean drama. A friend kept making me watch these dramas with her every time I sleepover in the hopes that I'll grow to like them and I kept falling asleep.

When I used to go to church.

Ugh, it was a Baptist church at that. So fucking boring and ugh and no.
