I wish I didn't give a fuck. My entire life outside writing is defined by a need to live up to people's expectations. When they tell me I'm doing well, I can't believe them because of course they'd say that no matter how shitty I'm doing, it's what you say to someone you care about. Of course they won't say I'm ugly, they aren't jackasses. The more I care about or admire someone, the more I need to make them happy. So I can be downright outgoing in a room of strangers and awkward with family. I feel guilty a lot. If I could just not give a fuck what people thought, I would actually be happy. But I'd also be a bad person. So maybe I don't want that.

Scratch not giving a fuck. Let me read minds, just for a week or so. Then I can actually know what people think about me.

I only mildly care about only what the people I like think, and I dunno. It's not that great, not caring. I couldn't give two shits about what people's expectations of me are because it doesn't matter. I'm going to do whatever the fuck I want.
