So I'm guessing this secret is saying that Downton has jumped the shark?

Series 4 is actually my favorite series so far.

The other day I was just reminded of how much I freaking love Thomas. Downton is one of of those shows that is out of site out of mind for me.

Yep, it's been airing in the UK. 4x07 is going to be airing next weekend.

I think it's jumped the shark. There's a storyline I really hate, I found it disturbing and hate the way it's playing out. But I'm still watching in the hope it redeems itself. I'm also not getting Lady Mary, she's really irritating.

I'm guessing the storyline you hate is Anna's?

I mean, I don't think it's been handled perfectly and there's a bit too much about Bates and his feelings in it. But I also think that there has been some really important scenes dealing with Anna's sense of shame and guilt and responsibility for what happened to her which I thought were really good.

And lol Mary is one of my favorite fictional characters ever and I think this has been a fantastic series for her.

She's still mourning Matthew, but she's trying to get on with her life at the same time. Yet she still doesn't feel ready to be happy with someone else again. And most of her story this series has been about taking ownership of her role as part owner of the estate and I LOVE that because so much of her story over the years has been about Downton and not being able to inherit it. So now she finally owns a part of it and she's really throwing herself into learning how to run it.
