This has been surprisingly uplifting

(Anonymous) 2013-10-30 12:59 am (UTC)(link)
Not OP, but I've been going through an insomnia/depression type of phase - can't sleep, then depressed and sleep all day when I finally do fall asleep, messing up the "can't sleep at night" thing even more. Lately I've been trying to re-regulate my sleeping, but I can't for the life of me seem to get to bed before 1am. Seeing all these other people staying up to about the same time makes me feel better. I was all set thinking "normal" adults try and get to bed as some reasonable time like 11pm or something.

Don't count me. I don't get off work until 11:30 pm. But, I do think it's pretty normal to go to bed around 1 am? Unless you have to work at 6 am or something. But, the people I know that work the 5:30 or 6 am shift still don't go to bed until 10 or 11 pm.

No. I cannot make myself go to bed a reasonable hour for the life of me. I am tired as shit all the time, but the only time I have for me is at night, and so I stay up waaaaaaaaaay past my bedtime. Of course that means like midnight for me, but still. Way past my bedtime.

Yeah, this is me. I get done with work around 8pm, and after that is really the only time for tumblr, FS, fic reading, book reading, etc. So I end up staying up waaaay too late.
