I mostly see that happen when it's a type of fic the flamer thinks is inherently disrespectful to write (e.g. noncon for a kids' show.) I think that's a little silly--with occasional exceptions like Linkara, content creators don't typically read the creepy fic people write about them and their works, so it's not like they're in a position to be insulted by it--but it's at least comprehensible.

If people are actually saying they were triggered by works wih trigger warnings, I don't know what to say to that. (This is the only site I go on where people ever say that something triggers them--I've never figured out how to properly use Tumblr.)

Sometimes they say there weren't ENOUGH triggers. Like, the fic warns for non-con which they are okay, but they forgot to add a warning for fat-shaming or aglets or whatever and that's what "triggered" them.

If only you knew the true purpose of aglets, you'd understand. It is sinister.
