7. And now you've forced me to look this person up and read all of their lj entries. Its like some sort of addiction I have.

9. I didn't let the fact that I couldn't shoot lazors out of a stick stop me from reading Harry Potter. (but I want to cast so badly)

24. What is the point of this secret? They're not even alike. I mean, I'd understand if you said "I like Higurashi, but I hate School Days" because they have gratuitous (or so I have read for the latter) amounts of violence, but one's a horror mystery and the other's a shounen-ai romance. (I suppose they're both controversial...)

24. That confused me too. I've never watched Higurashi, but I know enough about it to know they are not really alike. I understand being weirded out by Ritsuka/Soubi. I was too until about the end of episode 9. But they are two different series and to compare like that is kinda weird.

And I love how much a of a positive buzz this secret is now getting just because they love Higurashi.

There's a community for liking Higurashi. Were you aware? (Its not an unpopular series, for god's sake. Now, if it was a obscure series with a dead fandom COUGHNOEIN then feel free)

I should've been more specific, sorry.

My friends won't watch Higurashi because of the violence, and they'd be repulsed if I tried to talk to them about it. I'm embarrassed to like it because of that.

I refuse to watch Loveless because my impression is that Soubi's a shameless predator and Ritsuka just blushes like a fanfic uke and lets him get away with it. And the whole "he's 20 and he's 12" thing is unholy squick, too.

So, while I'm fine with watching young children and teenagers graphically torturing and murdering each other, I'm not okay with a kid being in a slave-master relationship with a man almost twice his age. It seemed ironic to me, that's all.

I understand where you're coming from :/

I find Loveless pretty creepy too, mainly because it isn't SUPPOSED to be. Oddly enough, I think I'd be more OK with it if people didn't continuously try to deny the fact that it's a blatant shotacon fantasy. "This is a weird fantasy fetish thing" is somehow less creepy to me than "this is totally OK and romantic and wonderful".
