Seriously? I mean, it's not the "best movie ever" but it's hardly boring.

And the visuals are absolutely stunning. I saw it twice in the cinema because it's so gorgeous to look at.

That might be the problem.

For a lot of people, visuals don't mean much, the only way they can get engaged is the plot or the dialogue or whatever. I don't care how stunning the visuals are, if the plot is boring then I just can't help but be bored.

Well, the plot isn't going to win any Oscars but it's not really boring imo. If the OP has "never been more bored in their life" then they're pretty lucky when it comes to movies.
