So, what are you non-Halloween inclined people do at the end of October/beginning of November?

Happy Halloween, FS!

But for those who don't celebrate, do you have special traditions? Another holiday? Another way of celebrating?

Around my parts, Halloween never took as a holiday since it was mainly a product of supermarkets wanting to sell candy and seeing this huge gap between back to school September and Christmas time. Parents mainly saw kids high on sugar going around people's houses. I live in the countryside with no street lamps, parents put their foot down pretty early on. That, and there's the carnival to play dress-up and inject sugar through your veins.

That said: what we do is buying flowers (cyclamen, chrysanthemum, heather) for our loved ones' graves. This is the time of the year when you see flowerpots everywhere in graveyards, wrapped in white paper. Not quite as festive as Halloween, mind you, but the general theme is the same. So, any other traditions? Festive, non-festive, nothing at all?

We have Bonfire Night and Diwali. I haven't celebrated either since I left school, though.

They started cracking down on Bonfire Night here (only the local FD in each community can do the fire, all other fires are "non-permit" and extinguished), so no one really does it anymore.

I used to enjoy watching the Divali parades when I was in Ontario. The free food from my Hindi coworkers was the best thing about Divali. :-)

I don't celebrate so it's like every other night, get home from work, eat, do the dishes, then do relaxing hobby of my choice (art, games, reading, tv)

My birthday is tomorrow so most years I spend more time planning that than Halloween.

Day of the Dead is a beautiful and lovely holiday, I love it.

We've had our first frost here, but the ground is still soft enough to dig, so this is my time for planting bulbs.
