Re: What are doing on this fine Hallow's Eve?

Thanks for the reply! Ouch. I'm on a 360 too, so if I'm looking at that much lost functionality... I'm not going to have Live for a while, either - network issues - so if it comes down to waiting for a DL patch, well, hell no. And I tend to have little patience for difficulty spikes.

(This makes me sound incredibly picky. I swear I'm usually more laid-back about games.)

The story was the main element I was interested in - I know they kicked out Dini and changed the VAs, but I wanted to see what kind of stuff they'd do with a new Gotham, whether they'd take any elements from Year One, etc. That might be enough to get me to play, but I think it'll be a case of borrowing from a friend rather than buying fresh off the press.

LOL. Well, there's an upside. I do like a game with fair eye-candy. (One of the reasons I enjoy the Mass Effect series, actually...)

Nah, I don't think it sounds picky. Especially if you were considering paying full price for it; video games ain't cheap, yo.

I say give it a try, but if you can borrow it that's probably the best way to go for now. The game is nice, but considering the issues I've been having with it and your trouble with LIVE, I can't justify suggesting it to you at full price. If you try it and like it you can always buy it later, maybe when it's on sale, or you can pick up the next edition. I haven't had this many problems with freezing outside of Fallout and Elder Scrolls games, and while the map is large, it isn't THAT large.

And I tend to have little patience for difficulty spikes.

It seems the first assassin is the most difficult for most people. Which is...a very, very odd way of doing things, but I guess if you can get past the first boss you can handle everything else.

Not far enough yet to say if there's much resemblance to Year One, but I could see it going there. I think it would work. IMO there's def a Long Halloween feel to it, but the similarities of that one are rather obvious I guess.

As for the VAs, I'm liking them. Of course the new Bruce is no Kevin Conroy, but I also think that voice coming out of this Bruce would feel off. The new VA sounds a bit inexperienced and raw, but it kind of works for him. The character is def a bit 'green' in comparison, and more emotional.

Gotham is extremely pretty and so is Bruce (dat stubble, UNF) so this game has the eye-candy covered, at least.
