I had a longish Jpop phase, got tired of it, and when I gave kpop a try it felt like more of the same.

One of my friends totally obsesses over it all over twitter and I had to disable seeing her retweets.

what kind of jpop, though? cause morning musume is jpop, but so is shiina ringo, and so is high and mighty colors. since it's not a real genre, but a term people outside of japan use to describe 'all non-rock Japanese music'. sure, these days even Japanese themselves use the term, but for the longest time, it's something a term that only the international crowd use.
