Overlooked romances?
(Anonymous) 2013-11-02 01:06 am (UTC)(link)I always thought Madame Maxine/Hagrid in Harry Potter was really interesting, because we only got to see/hear about little plot-relevant bits and pieces of it. But there's angst, and prejudice, and falling out, and overcoming prejudice, and making up, and going undercover, and adventures, and battling giants together, and so much great stuff there.
Also, Dr. Watson/Mary Morstan in The Sign of Four. Seriously, how adorable is that whole subplot? Watson is such a darling with his ridiculous chivalrous angst over the treasure I just can't. It's the actual cutest love story I've ever read.
Also, Antonio/Sebastian from Twelfth Night. I found Antonio's besottedness and Sebastian's obvliousness to be utterly endearing and surprisingly sincerely sad at the end, even if it was supposed to be funny.
