Do you guys like them? Which do you think is the best one? Also do you eat a beef soup?

Mock Turtle Soup. Because of the book. I've never actually eaten it, but it's my favorite anyway just because of that. Soup of the evening, beautiful soup...

Soups and stews are regular winter fare for me. Love 'em! No beef soup for me. Vegetarian here. I like to make my own soup, which is usually just broth and a bunch of vegetables that I'm in the mood for at the time. Minestrone is also a favorite.

I love soups. I make a lovely runner bean soup and a gorgeous french onion soup, but right now I'm living on minestrone because it's all bulked up with extremely cheap pasta, rice and potatoes. Mmm, costs practically nothing, nom nom.

Mmm, I love soup. I make a pretty good zuppa toscana, and my sister makes the best posole. I guess I eat beef soup, but mostly I eat pork or chicken. :)

Hmmm. Chicken soup and beef vegetable soup (with or without barley) probably tie for my favorite. New England clam chowder is also excellent. Split pea with ham is awesome for something warm and filling on a budget. Potato soup's not bad either.

The older I get, though, the more inclined I am to make my own and not buy it in cans (except the clam chowder, which I understand is kind of a pain to make.)

In my household, we like the pre-packaged Bear Creek soups available in the US. Any flavor is good and they have a number of gluten-free options. I especially like their Cheddar Broccoli.

Those are good as a base to add things to. I would use the potato soup and add a bunch of extra veggies and some bacon.

Soup is great, I will eat pretty much any unless it has mushrooms, I just really dislike mushrooms. I'm quite fond of anything chicken but I do really love a good scotch broth.

My favorite soup is Cock A Leekie soup.

We made this Winter Vegetable Soup last weekend and it was really good. Needs lots of S&P though. My sister has a very small apartment kitchen so she didn't have a pot big enough for everything (we doubled it) before the veg cooked down, so we had one big pot and one large saucepan. And the saucepan held just about perfectly 1/3 of it so we just pureed the contents of that pot and added it to the rest. It turned out great- nice smooth root veggie texture but with lots of nice chunks too. I don't think I would have liked it nearly as much if it was completely smooth.

YES. <3 I like to make homemade vegetarian soups with storebought veggie broth (haven't quite gotten the hang of homemade broth). Can't pick just one. Carrot ginger soup, creamy tomato soup, curried zucchini soup, Thai curry soup. I always get the recipes online, usually allrecipes.com.

Best soup I know of is my dad's chicken avgolemono soup. Second best is his vegetarian bean soup; third is lentil--though it's really a tossup between those two.

His little-known secret is that he cheats on the avgolemono soup--he uses Progresso Chicken with Rice soup as a base instead of making his own. I don't care--it's still just about perfection
