Off topic, but . . .
Re: Off topic, but . . .
but I'm not an expert on this anyway, it's just my observations, and a reflection of what seems to be a prevailing opinion on this topic (with which I happen to agree). Also I'm not queer so take with a grain of salt.

(Anonymous) 2013-11-02 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)This secret doesn't address the way the character(/s) is treated in the writing, the performance, etc, but the way fandom has latched onto that, and nothing else seems to get talked about. They're like a bulldog with a bite. If you want to focus on any other part of the character, let alone the show, you get dogpiled and called a homophobe.
As a queer person, I LOVE that the writers have created a character who happens to be gay. It doesn't define how he does his job, his personality or friendships, what he eats for lunch. We hardly hear about Carlos, but since he's something we do hear about more often than any other single item in the series (yes, including Intern Dana and the Angels), it's more easily recalled.
I just wish the SJWs would move along and let fandom enjoy the character who HAPPENS to be gay. That's what media is missing.

Actually I like Archie comics in general these days. When the hell did they get good?
