ARgh. PITCH TIME

Okay, yeah, that's exactly what we are talking about. And while that's part of it, it's obviously not just that...

WTNV is like if all the twilight zone intros about "A quiet little town" WERE ALL THE SAME TOWN. Weird, weird shit happens in Night Vale. Only because it's all happening there, all the time, it's their normal. So the local radio show guy discusses it, but not panicked and screaming, but mater of factly. Oh, and he has a guy crush who later becomes his boyfriend. He's a gushy guy who's not great at keeping his personal life out of his narrative (in an adorable way), so it comes up. Not every episode, and with occasional exception not even the majority of an episode when it's mentioned. That is taken up by the relevant current events in the town you'd expect a radio host in a local town to talk about. For example, the regs of the new dog park/

(the following is taken right from transcript)

That's night vale.

The tentacles are completely fanon. As well as any definite race or look for the characters (though the boyfriend is almost certainly darker skinned and implied at least partially latin), and anything you heard about one being a monster and/or trans.

Anyway, it's a neat show. And if you came to listen cause you heard there was homosexual representation, great!

But much like the people that showed up to homestuck cause they heard that troll's are culturealy bisexual, you are going to be mislead/dissapointed if that's the expected focus of the thing. And so the fans that want to talk about things other then the relationship are a getting a bit sick of the lack of representation of anything else. Especially when there's so much good stuff!

Hope you enjoy if you give it a try! Also if you don't like podcasts their's transcripts though you'll miss out on the ambiance in my opinion.
