Oh, anon, I'm sorry. I can relate. It is tough, because you don't want your parent to be an abuser, and yet it still hurts when they pull this type of crap on you.

This sounds a lot like my dad, except for the times where I've stood up to him, he just gets more ugly and hostile and starts screaming and swearing at me. Not fun. I'm in my midtwenties, and I still need to walk away from him when he starts getting verbally aggressive.
