No Mom, I don't think I can become a nurse. I'm don't think I can work with people that much and I don't want to.

Don't become a nurse.

Seriously, DON'T. If you already know you'll hate the job, don't even go there. Nursing is HARD, it's really fucking difficult, and the profession has high rates of depression and substance abuse as a result of the working conditions.

It would be even harder if you hated working with people. Nothing worse than being sick in hospital, being "cared" for by someone who hates their job (and you).

If you are undecided about what to major in, it seems like everybody nags you to study nursing because nurses will always be in demand, no matter what the state of the economy. So it's a safe major. Besides, saying that you don't want to work with people is a great way to horrify everyone around you. Especially if you're female.
