Gaming forums tend to be either all about stats and mechanics or very... dudebro-y. And I don't use that term lightly. Unless there's a particular one you'd suggest?

No, unfortunately - every single one I've ever been on has been dudebro-y. Even so, some of them - especially the Bioware forums - sometimes have very interesting plot-related discussions going on. The Escapist used to be alright, but lately their moderators have been asleep at the wheel and every second thread is "OH NO THE FRIENDZONE" and "WE SHOULD STOP PANDERING TO FEMINISTS ALREADY - GIRLS AREN'T REAL GAMERS".

Depends on the game, I think. For example, in my experience more MMOs tend to have more varied users and discussions with less of the dudebro stuff, whereas FPS is full up dudebro central.

Mm? I'd definitely like some recs for maybe rpg or jrpg forums, then. I suppose I should probably consider poking my head into Serenesforest too, either way, even though I've generally heard awful things about the place.
