Sheesh, that's messed up!

You know, once a copy of something is yours, you ought to be able to do whatever the fuck you want with it. Lend it out? Sure. Take it to Goodwill when you're done? Go ahead! Let other people make copies? Knock yourself out. Just don't charge money for it or act like you made it yourself.

I hope your "don't charge money for it" refers solely to the owner allowing people to make copies. If I buy a book and decide later that I no longer wish to keep it, I have every right to sell it.

Yeah, that's fine! Like I said, yard sales are a legit channel for acquiring stuff. I dunno, I guess I phrased it oddly and left out some nuance. What I meant was more along the lines of "don't charge people for copies as though you own the material."
