Exactly. That's kind of the point. I'm not sure it would work in an ongoing serial, IMO, because if you ruin someone, you can't continue that ruination beyond the climax-denoument of that one story arc. But as a one-shot story? The ruination of everything Holmes is via the breakdown of the science and logic that makes up the foundations of his character would make for a spectacular deconstruction-esque story if done well.
