Shipping's the majority in most fandoms, I thought. But it does sometimes suck when you can't find decent gen.

Is there a fandom know for having loads of gen?

Mag 7, maybe?

(Anonymous) 2013-11-06 05:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Please share links to team-centric Mag 7 gen! And by team-centric I mean team-centric and not character-centric with a side of team, hope that makes sense.

A Song of Ice and Fire has loads of gen. It also has tons of crazy ships, but there's quite a bit of family gen fic.

This is a joke right?

(Anonymous) 2013-11-06 04:17 am (UTC)(link)
No... There's a ton of het in the fandom, but there's a ton of gen, too. (At least that's how it is on AO3. I don't know what the situation is on ff.net.)

(Anonymous) 2013-11-06 12:06 am (UTC)(link)
as someone who adores gen fic.....HA :p but also sorry

(Anonymous) 2013-11-06 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
Yep, that's karma (as commonly used, anyway.)

But I'm a big shipper too, and I'd be in the same boat as you if I had the urge to read fic for that fandom. It's a universe that would do gen really well, I think.

Still haven't seen this movie, but every time I see gifs of these two I think "I hope there's awesome family fic in the fandom". I'm a huge shipper myself, but you can love gen too!

Theirs was the only compelling relationship in the entire film.

I really liked their relationship in the film. I'd love backstory fics for them. Especially Stacker taking care of young Mako fics.
kryptoncat: FFIX's Vivi is reading a book; magic is coming off of it. (THIS LOOKS INTERESTING)

Good luck finding your gen fic! Finding cute family fics always brightens my day.
