[Ian McKellan and Patrick Stewart]

I have literally NEVER heard anyone say something like that. Especially about wanting to have a friend like Ian McKellen or Patrick Stewart. Like, even people who have no idea who those two are would see those pictures and be like, "Those guys look like they are having fun!" Where were you that this happened? Because I just don't believe it.

(Anonymous) 2013-11-06 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
I do - but because I've seen insane shit [not that, but same or higher level] before, sadly.

(Anonymous) 2013-11-06 12:01 am (UTC)(link)
SA

*I do believe the OP - not that I say that

About Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart? I can sort of see it for like Hiddleston/Hemsworth or Quinto/Pine. There is a lot of fanfic about them and people ship them alot. But I just can't see it for Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen.

(Anonymous) 2013-11-07 05:29 pm (UTC)(link)
Just because you 'can't see it' doesn't mean it's not out there.

Christ, you're not the only one on the internet.

Am I the only one who thinks this is hilarious? If the secret isn't a reference to the one about Ian McKellan and Patrick Stewart from a few days (weeks?) ago, I'll eat my hat.

And someone did actually tell the OP of that secret that they didn't know anything about the two and what their relationship really was like. IIRC someone suggested that it was mostly PR for their movies, but was shot down in the following comments. Or was it that the only reason why McKellan was only at Stewarts wedding because they were abroad promoting? Something like that.

(Anonymous) 2013-11-06 04:09 am (UTC)(link)
Believe it, my friend:

The other secret was different though. I thought the point of the comments was more to say that the OP may well have a close RL friend one day. Fact is they don't know IM and PS, so how could they say they'd never have such a good friendship, they don't know the actual extent of their friendship IRL.

I think it's a shame as the comments were trying to encourage OP that they might well have a good friend one day and you can't project stuff into pictures of people you don't know and feel bad about yourself. Sounds like they didn't take any of that on board. Oh well.

The you missed it, because it happened like... a couple weeks ago on FS. I wouldn't have believed it either, otherwise.

(Anonymous) 2013-11-06 12:00 am (UTC)(link)
...But...They're obviously friends? And, from things they've said before, pretty close friends?

[personal profile] agnes_bean 2013-11-06 12:39 am (UTC)(link)
+1

In fact, forget "pretty close" -- Ian McKellen freaking officiated Patrick Stewart's wedding. It's not crazy made up fantasy to see that they are clearly incredibly good friends. (Also, adorable).

[personal profile] pantswarrior 2013-11-06 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
...Yeah, you don't know anything about them.

Except that they are really obviously, vocally, visibly good friends who have an awesome time with each other and don't care what the world thinks of it, to the point they do absolutely ridiculous things and broadcast the pictures to the world.

Anyone who gets on your case for acknowledging that is an idiot, and I'm sorry to hear you have apparently encountered idiots. :P

Aw, seeing these photos of them makes me happy :) they're sensational!

Yo, these photos are the best things on the internet. If being inordinately happy about Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan being epic bros and having shenanigans is wrong, then I don't want to be right.

+1. They're fantastic pictures and who wouldn't want a bff like Stewart or McKellan to goof off with?

I love those photos so much it's not ever funny. They are the adorablest.
cloud_riven: Close-up of an open-mouthed piglet! Is it recoiling? Or side-eyeing? Maybe saying, "HEY YOU TWO SHOULD KISS"? Mystery! (eeeeeeehhhhhh)

[personal profile] cloud_riven 2013-11-06 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
Damn. They're look cute hanging out.

Damn. Ian McKellan has some really nice arms.

They are epic, each one on their own, but by god: Their friendship is so awesome I don't know how the world can even handle it. They always look like they're having the most amazing time, and that they're the truest bros ever.

(I don't ship them! But I do ship Magneto/Xavier, and one of the reasons the film adaptations work so great for me is because they have such good chemistry on screen.)

Those pictures are the best though, they always put a smile on my face because they look like they're having a good time.

I don't have to read fic about them, because I enjoy them enough as it is, but they're ADORABLE! I grin every time I see pictures of them, they just seem like such nice guys.

They're completely adorable together <3 I follow both on twitter just to see the adorable pictures they post.

Seeing their friendship and how much they genuinely seem to love each other, puts a smile on my face.

(Anonymous) 2013-11-06 01:57 am (UTC)(link)
If people actually say that kind of things, then that's pretty idiotic.

And I do love looking at those pictures, it really looks like they're having fun =)

(Anonymous) 2013-11-06 03:09 am (UTC)(link)
I kinda feel the same way about Richard Speight Jr. and Rob Benedict. Haven't seen anybody get nasty about it, but boo to anybody who does, about anyone enjoying a cute friendship like that.

(Anonymous) 2013-11-06 04:08 am (UTC)(link)
But...how? They're obviously close friends...close awesome friends, that is...
