Ending the procrastination!

[personal profile] pantasma 2013-11-06 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
Finally had a day off to do all the dishes to clear the counter, cleaned the counter, scraped all the old, nasty caulk away and cleaned the joint, and recaulked the whole sh'bang!

What did you accomplish today?

Holding a sick baby all day. :( It was very sad because she is so happy all the time and she was just still and quiet and sick. :(

I have so much grading to do too but you can't grade and hold a sleeping pitiful baby. Oh well. My students get an extra day to prepare for midterms, so maybe they'll forgive me. And I gave them four extra days on their essay.

That's wonderful! Keep going, Baby!

I also find it impressive that you have a baby and are still teaching a class with midterms and essays. You must be the master of coordination and time management.

Ha ha! My trickery works. LOL

You are so sweet to say that; I try really hard but I feel constantly behind this semester. It's a little overwhelming (mostly because I am teaching two second session classes); next semester will be better because I'll only be teaching full session classes.

MuahahahaHAAAA!

I have no idea what second vs. full session means, but I'm imagining something involving team teaching...

:)

In my state, a full session semester of college (regular semester) is 16 weeks (Aug-Dec). First session classes start in Aug and go to midterm (8 weeks), and second session classes begin at midterm and go to Dec. First and second sessions have to cover the same material and contain the same volume of assignments as 16 week courses so they are exhausting to teach and the grading is brutal.

More than I anticipated, less than I hoped. I read and summarized two jargon heavy academic articles for an annotated bibliography, went to class and analyzed an intelligence piece, summoned up the courage to ask for a ride home. And then I did my roommates' dishes. :/

Ideally I would have read and summarized the other two academic articles, and gotten started with the boatload of other material I need to start on, but... I simply cannot brain today.

Unless there's a dishes agreement, doing other people's dishes sucks. Nice that you got a ride home, though - based on the only other options I can think of it sure cuts down travel time.

Take a brain break and get some good sleep, hon.

I got up early enough to work out and then cook an actual breakfast with eggs and toast and tea.

Other than that just work.

Mm, eggs and tea. I might try for that, myself, tomorrow morning.
