If you hate it, try not having a blatantly sexist opinion.

There. Easy.

it is not sexist to say that the Doctor should not regenerate into a woman

(AYRT) I know you're being a troll, but I'll bite. A recent poll showed that the majority of women polled on the subject didn't want a female Doctor. I'm also female myself, and as I stated I don't want a female Doctor. My Mum loathes the idea! So what, am I being sexist against my own gender (including myself)? Is my Mum? Are all those other women who don't want a female Doctor all being sexists too?

...actually I probably shouldn't joke about that because I know that plenty of rabid SJWs would seriously be screaming about "internalised misogyny" just because I, and other women, don't want every protagonist character in the world to be played by a woman (especially one that's been male for the past 50 years). It's the same absurd argument that was thrown at those who were sceptical of a female Watson in Elementary.

Plenty of the arguments I saw against that were very sexist, regardless of whether they came from men or women. (This isn't 'screaming' by the way, it's disagreeing.)

I wasn't saying that it's not possible that sexism was the reason why some people don't want a female Doctor (or didn't want a female Watson), I absolutely acknowledge that for some people (both male and female) that was/is case. I'm just sick of people trying to say that anyone who doesn't want a female Doctor, for any reason, *must* be doing it because they're sexist, and there's no other possible reason. Which I what I see so often whenever the idea of a female Doctor is discussed.

It's the same sort of bullshit that I see when someone says that they dislike a female character (even if it's for perfectly valid reasons). The idea that to not be sexist you have to like every female character, and want a female protagonist in everything, is so annoying.
