(Anonymous) 2013-11-06 11:23 am (UTC)(link)...actually I probably shouldn't joke about that because I know that plenty of rabid SJWs would seriously be screaming about "internalised misogyny" just because I, and other women, don't want every protagonist character in the world to be played by a woman (especially one that's been male for the past 50 years). It's the same absurd argument that was thrown at those who were sceptical of a female Watson in Elementary.

Plenty of the arguments I saw against that were very sexist, regardless of whether they came from men or women. (This isn't 'screaming' by the way, it's disagreeing.)

(Anonymous) 2013-11-06 09:45 pm (UTC)(link)It's the same sort of bullshit that I see when someone says that they dislike a female character (even if it's for perfectly valid reasons). The idea that to not be sexist you have to like every female character, and want a female protagonist in everything, is so annoying.
