I enjoyed this movie as a kid and I guess I have just never gone back to watch it with "slash goggles". I never really saw anything between them, other than siblings.

Tbh, it's actually been stated they were originally slated to be gay before someone higher up decided the public wasn't ready for it.

Source?
pantswarrior: Spock thinks everything is "fascinating". (fascinating)

Indeed, every time this movie gets brought up, someone says that, and I can see it very likely being true (especially if you've heard the songs on the soundtrack that WEREN'T in the movie), but I have never actually seen anything other than anonymous commenters saying so on various sites.

IIRC it was in some interview or another. I don't remember which one off hand [it was years ago that I read it, and even longer that it took place] but you might be able to find it if you look?

hold on. you state something as a source and now you can't pony it up? now you're telling the people who are questioning you to come up with the source themselves?

I call bullshit.
pantswarrior: Spock's sehlat is a very serious sehlat. (srs bsns)

That's the thing, I *have* looked, and all I've ever found was anonymous commenters (here, TVTropes, other assorted fansites) saying so without any sourcing. That's why I'm asking for one of those anonymous commenters to please cite their source - I've come up empty except for anonymous commenters.

I've always wanted to see a source for it too.

I've seen it called a gay musical on TV shows and a few christian websites denouncing it but no-one has ever listed a source.

I can see why people would think so, it'd just be nice to have confirmation on if it's true or a hopefull rumour

Oh I wish this were true, but I'm kinda skeptical... when did this come out, 2000? And they were seriously thinking about making it a canon gay kid's movie? I find that too unbelievable. Whether or not the writers wrote them as gay might be true, but I can't believe that even today they would let Tulio and Miguel "come out."
