I knew nothing about the movie so the torture scene was a surprise for me. If I had know about it I wouldn't have watched the movie. But like I said. So I found James.

After that I started to search for interviews with him and articles about him and I also found the one about the torture scene. After that information the movie became a total no go for me. Like you it is hard for me to separate James and his character in this movie. :/

I never watched Hunger. Michael often makes movies which aren't really my genre. I enjoy some of his works (XMFC, Jane Eyre and Basterds) but most movies with him are too hardcore for me. He got popular shortly before my depression got worse so that I never had the time to watch his works. Now I simply can't watch such movies even if I find some of them really interesting.

Rough intro to James :( I saw him first in Narnia, and then looking up interviews and the ones with him and Georgie Henley basically made me fall in love with him already, haha. The next things I saw were Children of Dune and Bright Young Things, I think.

He does! He makes horror movies (or just violent ones)and I don't really like that. I did watch Eden Lake for him and I'm certainly in no rush to watch that again. The ones I have on DVD are Basterds, Hunger, Fish Tank and Hex.
