Way to prove the OP's point!

How does it prove their point?

(Anonymous) 2013-11-09 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
DA

Because they're saying exactly that, that people judge them for not having the "right" views or making the "right" statements, hence they must not be liberal.

But then how does that mean it would be better to be conservative?

(Anonymous) 2013-11-09 04:22 am (UTC)(link)
DA

Because presumably, a conservative cannot get "more progressive," they can only all of a sudden become progressive, which isn't likely to happen. So if OP were just conservative, nobody would say "Get more progressive!" and most would recognize the futility of saying "Become progressive/Reverse Your Entire Outlook" and would instead just leave OP alone.

Ok, sure.

That still doesn't make any sense to me, but thank you for explaining the logic.

Argh. That is such bullshit. I am so. fucking. tired. of the dichotomy imposed from the top down in this country that everyone fits into one slot or the other. You know what? I think people should be required to show a government-issued photo ID to vote. I also think abortion should be legal and easily accessible. I also believe that Obamacare is the biggest piece of shit legislation ever written. I also wholeheartedly support gay marriage. We don't have to be one thing or the other.
