I think there are probably few people who would define "a modicum of consideration, or at least some attempt at something that could reasonably be turned into a dialogue" as "catching shit."

I don't think they're really that far apart, actually... I mean, they're closer than you would assume. You can have some pretty rough informal emotionally charged political discourse that still has a modicum of consideration or dialogue.

(To be clear, I'm not criticizing the OP of this thread or anything like that, more a general comment)
