And just, like, WHY was he doing it? Because he wanted to be in power at all costs, even though he'd never been a personal power at all costs kind of character...

Slightly belatedly, but I kind of wonder if they thought they needed to up the 'well shit just got terrible' stakes in order for Felix to eventually decide that enough was enough and give up?

Because I kind of see that as the tipping point of his involvement in the mutiny and realizing that he can't, in fact, deal with or justify the loss that his actions have created.
