BSG is great but that's kind of their MO. They have pet characters and every other character pats them on the back and tells them what a good job they've done, regardless of their actions. I'm not a fan of Roslin, mainly because I feel like the series forgives all of her negative actions and focuses only on the positive ones.

I feel that they started off being willing to criticise Roslin and then the writers fell for her and forgot they were supposed to be writing satire of all the shit that was going on in the real world at the time. It was a real shame because when BSG tackled those sorts of things it was fantastic. It also made me loathe Roslin because of the hypocrisy of what she was allowed to get away with.
