Well, Laserdance is extremely 80s, but only has a few tracks that could be described as "ethereal." The only one that comes to mind is called "Vast Emptiness" I think.

For creepy, you might want to check out Brian Eno's album Ambient 4: On Land. God, that album creeps me out. It's not really very 80s, and I don't think it's electronic exactly, I'm not sure what it is, but it might be what you're looking for. Brian Eno is pretty good in general.

Aphex Twin and alkor might also have stuff you like, but beyond that, I can't think of anything else.
