FitzSimmons is my favorite thing about the show. Like OP, I don't really care that it's cliche, but I like having two people who care about each other and have a common interest.

I actually do like May, though I'd like her (and everyone else) to get a lot more development. I don't mind Ward or Skye, but I'm not particularly interested in anyone except Fitz and Simmons.

A lot more development will probably come. We're not that far into the season here. Patience is a virtue!

I love them too. Not sure they're my favorites, but they're certainly close. Them being cliche doesn't bother me either; I didn't go into this series looking for an incredibly unique tv experience, I just wanted something fun to watch with likable characters, and the show fits those needs for me. (Doesn't hurt that FitzSimmons are both adorable. Also, May is really damn hot.)

May was my favorite at first, but I agree that she's had little development. However I also agree with dazzledfirestar in that there's still time for that to happen; so far she seems to be on the back-burner, but hopefully that will change.

Also, different strokes, OP. You like what you like. Just keep in mind how early in the season it still is and don't just hate on anybody just yet. There's plenty of time for growth and development. Despite what the instant gratification needing folks seem to think.

Have you checked out the "Agents of Squee" tag on tumblr? Actual fandom happiness instead of all the negative crap. It's a fun place to be. :)

I wouldn't consider any of the people who said that 'friends'...I don't have many friends I can discuss AoS with...either they're not into the genre at all, or they dislike it for whatever reason (but don't start with the facepalmy stuff).

(And, now, since I've decided to ignore the AoS discussions in that comm, I basically have one person I can discuss the show with...who actually pretty much agrees with me on most aspects of it.)

And, yeah, every time they started in on the accents, there, I eye-rolled so hard I was in danger of unplugging the optic nerve. (What's really bizarre is the overlap with Doctor Who, Game of Thrones, or Red Dwarf fans, there.)

People do that? Like there aren't real people from the UK using their real accents (going by interviews with their actors) elsewhere in US TV. If anything, it's nicer to hear that than actors putting on some questionable imitation that's impossible to take seriously.

Also agreeing with the love for FitzSimmons...especially after this week's episode.

I love May though. My least fav is probably Ward, at least so far. I don't vehemently dislike anyone though (yet?).

I keep sort of wanting to get into it for the FitzSimmons.

I'm really intrigued and excited about all the pro-science stuff cropping up in media recently, and I'd like to see how AoS did it, but.... superheros. :/

I am just not interested enough in superpowered people with a shoddily crafted backstory to clumsily tack some kind of flashy power onto. And I'm pretty certain the science!pros are too minor characters to be worth really getting into the series for.

Someone prove me wrong?

None of the main characters have powers. They're trying to keep people with powers fromgoing out of control. All normal humans. Except Coulson, who may be a Life Model Decoy.

Okay now this does sound interesting. Maybe I'll try to tackle an episode. Any suggestions for a good first one to watch?

I'm not all that worried with seeing them in order (regardless of spoilers or plot), because I recognize that sometimes it takes a show a while to get on its feet.

Skip the pilot. It's fairly episodic, so you can pick any and start, but I'd say episode 3 is probably a good one.

Um, there are no actual superheroes. It's more about normal (though very skilled and gifted) people having to live with and deal with the stuff that happens when you live in a world where superpowers have happened.

FitzSimmons are my favourites too, I think they're adorable.

I actually quite like Skye, she's grown on me. Ward I could give or take, and while I do think May is very cool when fighting I find her as a character to be quite dull. But we've still got the rest of the season to go, and if they've gotten another then there will be more chance for development for all of them.

I think Skye is my fave (#unpopularopinions) but I'm only 3-4 eps in and Shield (the org) is deeply skeezy to me. May is 2nd fave tho.

I also like Skye. I'm not super attached to her or anyone on the show yet but I don't get why everyone is hating on her.

The only character I really don't like is Coulson, who seems to exist solely for the purpose of delivering one-liners.

Speaking as someone who couldn't stand FitzSimmons before, I'm glad that last episode made them more likeable. They were great in the second half of the episode. They're probably still the least favourite part of the show for me (aside from the weird Skye/Ward dynamic. Alone or with other characters they're both fine, but together they really don't work for me), but the knee-jerk reaction of instant annoyance the moment FitzSimmons entered the screen is gone.

I can get why the May opinion might make you a wee bit of a pariah in the fandom, or even the Skye and Ward ones...but thus far my impression of fandom is that the Sciences Babies are one of the better parts of the show - even before this week's episode? I'm confused.

I haven't seen her in anything since this movie, but back then at least she was stunningly beautiful in a very mainstream, barbie kind of way.
