I'd imagine being the solo astronaut on some manned long-term deep space mission might make it hard to date ~~a real person~~.

Sure. I wouldn't date someone in the military or a member of the clergy because a) I'd have to commit to an entirely lifestyle that I definitely don't want, and b) the fact that they committed to that lifestyle suggests we're generally incompatible anyway. I also wouldn't date a politician because I wouldn't want my private life under a microscope. And I definitely wouldn't date someone who worked for an anti-choice or anti-LGBT group, because fuck them.

This is pretty much my answer too.

I would not date a missionary, or a religious person who knocks on doors and tries to convert people or whatever.

I'm gay, so it's probably not in my stars anyway.

Not really? I'd assume it would be on a case-by-case basis, but if you're really asking me to judge careers, I wouldn't date someone with my career (transportation engineer). The work/personal overlap is really inconvenient when you break up.

I wouldn't want to date a famous celebrity.

Anything that earns money by hurting other people or anything that would draw a lot of attention on me by dating them.

I'm pretty much the same as a lot of people here - nothing that conflicts with my morals/ethics/world view, nothing that puts them in an inordinate amount of danger, nothing that puts me in danger or exposes me to a lot of public attention and scrutiny, nothing that requires them to be gone for long periods of time on a regular basis...

One thing I have to add is that jobs in my field are not thick on the ground so I don't have the luxury of choosing where to live and then finding a job there, I'd have to find a job and then move to wherever it is. (The only reason I moved to my current city is that this is where I got a job!) So, it would be difficult for me to be in a relationship with someone who had to move around a lot or who had their own move-where-the-job is career unless we got lucky and were both able to find work in our respective fields in the same place. I realize that might actually make me the one with the Problem Job!

Drug dealer - and I mean the kind who do a lot more than just sell some weed here and there. Not cool with that at all.

Any high-profile career that gets someone constantly recognized on the street, such as a famous actor. Low-profile actors are okay, though.

I'd probably pass on someone doing mainstream pornography and high-frequency prostitution. Low-contact sex work like cams, dancing, professional Dom/me, etc., is fine.
